Active Learning Week

We are delighted to share details of our exciting Active Learning Week for Years 8, 9, 10, and 12, alongside the engaging WAT Pledge Week for Year 7, all taking place in the last week of the academic year. These dedicated programmes provide invaluable opportunities for your children to learn, grow, and develop outside of the traditional classroom setting.

Active Learning Week (Years 8, 9, 10 & 12)

This special week is designed to broaden horizons and foster personal potential through a diverse range of challenging, cultural, and physical activities, both in school and through planned trips. Your child will have the chance to engage in experiences that encourage them to step outside their comfort zone, develop new skills, and discover hidden talents. We believe this week will help them to:

  • Enhance Essential Skills: Through hands-on activities, students will develop problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and communication skills.

  • Build Confidence and Resilience: By tackling new challenges, students will grow in self-assurance and learn to persevere.

  • Broaden Perspectives: Exposure to different cultural and physical activities will enrich their understanding of the world around them.

  • Create Lasting Memories: These unique experiences will provide valuable memories and contribute to their overall personal development.

 WAT Pledge Week (Year 7)

Our Year 7 students will be participating in the WAT Pledge Week, a programme specifically designed to support their journey through secondary school and build a strong foundation for their future. This week focuses on developing key skills through team-building activities, physical and mental challenges, and outdoor experiences that foster a connection with nature. Your child will benefit from:

  • Stronger Team Cohesion: Engaging in collaborative tasks will help them build positive relationships with their peers.

  • Increased Resilience: Facing challenges together will develop their ability to overcome obstacles.

  • Appreciation for the Outdoors: Immersive nature-based activities will foster an understanding and respect for the environment.

  • Enhanced Confidence: Successfully completing challenges will boost their self-esteem and independence.

We are confident that both Active Learning Week and WAT Pledge Week will provide enriching and memorable experiences for all participating students, contributing significantly to their personal and social development. We look forward to sharing the highlights of these fantastic weeks with you.
