Year 7 Football - What a Game!

On Thursday night the Year 7 Team played host to Codsall, with a number of debutants in the squad the lads lined up in a 2-5-1 formation. With a couple of minutes left in the first half we win a corner. Olly Edwards inswinging ball to the back post was kung fu kicked Cantona style by Tyler Griffiths 1-0.

Second half was a completely different game. We dominated from start to finish with some fantastic passages of play down both wings. Then with an inspired substitution and a divine weighted pass Olly finds himself through on goal with just the 6ft Yr7 keeper to beat. The keeper parry's his first attempt but couldn't beat the whippet to the loose ball as Olly slotted home for 2-0. In full control the squad rotates in high spirits, numerous chances pass us by before Harry Mason gives away a free kick with a rash challenge on the edge of the box.  Codsall placed the ball, paced out the approach and struck a wonder shot heading bottom right, Joe Wilkinson made an outstanding diving save to keep us 2-0 up. Shortly after Will Allen picks the ball up on the left flank, cuts inside, beats three players in the box before obliterating one into the roof of the net. 3-0 Cheslyn Hay GAME OVER!
