iPad Unboxing

Cheslyn Hay Academy are very proud and excited to be completing our third, annual ‘iPad Unboxing’ event for Year 7 students as part of the trust’s ‘iPad for Learning’ strategy. Following the event, year 7 students will have a personal learning device that will be used to ‘power-up’ their learning in every lesson; accessing interactive resources, direct teacher feedback and opportunities to collaborate with their peers. iPads also allow students to adopt creative solutions, expressing their understanding in ways that are stimulating and motivating. They can also take the ipad home each night to complete homework, continue their learning journey and to provide access to digital platforms for other family members.

One of our Year 7 students, Lydia, has said “I am very excited to get my iPad and start using it to help me learn. I think being able to do my work on the iPad and use the apps will be great!”.

Mr Hood, Assistant Headteacher and Digital Learning lead, has said “the use of iPads in school allows all students to access high-quality learning experiences and realise their academic potential. We are really proud to be rolling this out to yet another cohort of Year 7 students. The unboxing event always creates a level of excitement amongst the students and staff, who look forward to planning lessons that exploit the technologies in their year 7 lessons”.
